Summer on the Côte d’Azur means tan bodies, wide beaches and glamorous nightclubs throbbing with the vitality of the rich and beautiful. So when Maggie Newberry arranges to meet an old boyfriend at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, it’s no surprise she begins to feel the seduction of her old life.
But amidst the glamor, beautiful clothes and brilliant creative work on display, there is also the side of the business Maggie had forgotten was always there too. The petty rivalries, the dirty deals, the betrayals, are all still front and center. When the back-stabbing turns literal and the wife of Maggie’s childhood friend is accused of the murder, Maggie knows she has to help.
Along the way she needs to fight the police, Laurent, and even her own natural instincts about who she is now and the life she left behind.
She learns the hard way that the treachery rife in her old industry has since ramped up to a whole new level—one that her quiet life as a vigneron’s wife has not at all prepared her for…and one that could very well get her killed.
(Bonus Laurent’s classic soupe de poisson recipe at the end of the book!)

I hated for this story to end- I feel like I spent the day in France and I wasn't ready to come home! I have loved every one of these books, and this one is even better than the last one. The characters came to life and the plot had many twists. I thought I had it figured out several times but I wasn't even close. Maggie, the heroine, has more moxie and gumption than any heroine I've read in a long time. She's smart, brave, daring, and she loves her husband and children. I truly hope the author is working diligently on the next book in this series. I can't wait to see which criminal is next to get their ass kicked by this awesome woman!Product details

Murder in Cannes Book 10 of the Maggie Newberry Mysteries edition by Susan KiernanLewis Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
Maggie is an American living in France. From the beginning of the series where she meets and falls in love with the mysterious Laurant, nothing is ever calm. Maggie gets into many scrapes along the way. Oh yes, she is also a devoted mother. For anyone interested in France and French food this will not disappoint.
Maggie meets up with old friend Brownie, from Atlanta, and gets mixed in mayhem and murder. She really digs herself a deep hole that could cost her her life. The plot twists and turns and the occasional pothole puts her up against a foe that she never expected and just can't believe. Riveting as always from
SK-L.
I love the Maggie Newberry series. Even though you know there will be someone murdered, the stories have twists and some surprises with delightful details. Having traveled in that area before I was pleased with the detail the author included. I didn't want to put down the book once I started reading. Only problem is now having to wait until fall for the next one to come out.
This is one of the best written series I've had the pleasure of reading. The author has me on the edge of my seat all the way through and has me waiting impatiently for the next book. Love the characters, they are described so well I feel like they are neighbors and friends. Thank you for the pleasure, when is the next one going to be available?
Sad this seems to be the last in a great series. Have loved the characters in these novels. Kierman-Lewis weaves great tales combing an American woman married to a hunk of a Frenchman who of course is an amazing cook living in Southern France on a vineyard. This novel combines a turmoil location for Maagie, revisiting her past and her choices she has made for her present life as well as murder. Each book in the series can be read singly but of course better to read in a series.
Could not put the book down once I started to read it. It kept you wondering what was going to happen next, It keeps you are your toes because you want to try and figure who is really involved in these murders. I recommend if your going to read this book you need to read the first book and so forth. Once you start reading this series you will really enjoy her and want the author to continue to write more of her. I love the Maggie series it was the first book I read of her books. The author keeps you going and there very enjoyable and it keeps you guess.
I love these books because of my visit to Paris, Nice and other areas in the South of France. I can't wait for the Arles book, which I've been there too. They are so fun to read because I can identify. I have eaten some of the foods and visits quite a few wineries and dranked my weight in Rose wines. This book was .... a good book but some of the others are better. I do like Laurent in this book, of course, Maggie was Maggie. I really miss Grace in these stories. Now she was a complex character. I hope to see Grace in the Arles book, later this year. Roger finally admitted he loved Maggie, but I don't want Maggie and Laurent broken up!
